Captain Brandholm joined Optimum AB as a founding partner and CEO in March 2022. 

He started his seaman career in 1978 in OT-shipping. Then continued in Laurin Maritime from 1987, and when Laurin Maritime was acquired, in 2018, by Team Tankers he continued as Senior Performance, Environmental, Technical and Nautical Manager. In Laurin Maritime he sailed as master for 21 years and started in the shore organization in 2011.

Amongst many achievements in Laurin Maritime, he was responsible for the company documentation and the implementation of the ISM-code, ISPS-code and setting up an Energy Management system in accordance with ISO 50001.

On behalf of Laurin Maritime and later in Team Tankers he participated as an Intertanko committee member of the Environmental Committee, the Nautical Sub-Committee and in ISTEC. He was the chairman of the Nautical Sub-Committee and was leading the work to create the first edition of the    publication "Guide to Safe Navigation (including ECDIS)".

Also, on behalf of Laurin Maritime and later in Team Tankers he participated as a recognized End-User in several EU Commission funded projects:

•  Project Earth Observation for Maritime Navigation EC Grant Agreement Number 687537 — “EONav H2020-EO-2015”
• Eco-friendly and customer-driven Sail plan optimization service Grant Agreement Number 820593 – “EcoSail H2020-EIC-FTI-2018-2020”
• Copernicus Climate Change Service for Ship Navigation (ECMWF) “ECMWF/COPERNICUS/2017/C3S_422” (not funded by the EU-Commission).

 Captain Vilson joined Optimum AB as a founding partner and joint CEO in July 2022 after winding down the fleet of Team Tankers International (TTI) as Chief Operating Officer and managing director of Team Tankers A/S in Copenhagen Denmark.

His previous positions in TTI were VP of operation and VP of Fleet management.

Before the merger of Laurin Maritime into TTI in 2018, he was the Chief Operating Officer of Laurin Maritime group for 20 years and located in Houston USA from 1993 until 2018 as managing director of the parent company LMAI and the chairman of the manning company in the Philippines.

He has over 40 years of experience from distinct roles in shipping both onboard ships, shipyards and in executive positions ashore. Captain Vilson sailed until 1992, the last years as the captain of chemical tankers. 

He holds a Master Mariner in Nautical Science from Kalmar University in Sweden and a Diploma in Commercial and Operational management from Chalmers University in Sweden, he is further a certified arbitrator and have been the Chairman of Intertanko Vetting Committee, an Intertanko council member and a member of the Intertanko Executive Committee. 

He is an international recognized speaker and the honorary Chairman of Shipping Insight and a board member of different companies.
